Once the long search for your dream home is over and you have finished unpacking boxes, the fun really starts. Wall decor can mean all kinds of things. There are pictures, shelves, mirrors, and wall sculptures. You could find nice picture frames and put family pictures in them for a more personal approach. Then you can either hang them on your wall or stand on a shelf. You can put shelves where ever you need a little more storage space without your house looking cluttered. Mirrors are fun to use to decorate, and they will also make a small room feel much more spacious. You can use one big mirror or a couple of small ones to get the look you want. Wall sculptures make great home accessories too - you could look at something like a simple sun motif, or something more complex like an abstract sculpture. These can also be great conversation pieces.Choosing a wonderful, authentic piece of vintage art could add a lot of character to the right area too.

When you think about light, you probably think about the overhead lights. There are more kinds of lighting though. You can use candles, chandeliers, and lamps. Candles give a nice little glow to the room they are in. Many find candles romantic so they would be great over a fancy meal. You can also get candles in many different colors and many different scents. Some are even scentless! If you have small children, it may be best to go with the flameless candles. There are some that are battery powered. That way it gives off the pretty glow without the chance of a fire.

Chandeliers can be very elegant, and would suit in a formal dining room. They look fantastic above a delicious meal. Lamps are great to use when chandeliers and candles aren't practical. For example they are perfect to put on a desk. They are also good when you need a little more light in a corner of the room. There are a lot of different lamps. Outdoor decor is something a lot of people don't think about when they think of home decor. There are all kinds of things you can do outside of your home to make it a little more interesting. Doormats, benches, flowers, and wind chimes are a few things you can use. Door mats are wonderful! Not only do you have a place to wipe you feet off before you come in, but you also have something nice looking to admire. There are plain doormats, doormats with sayings on them, and colorful doormats. You just have to pick one that you like. Benches look nice and are practical at the same time. It will give you a place to sit and relax while sprucing up your yard. You can get one in just about any color you can imagine.

Another great thing for your yard is to add some plants or flowers. Planting a flower garden can be very rewarding but you could just buy a few pots of flowers, or even get artificial flowers if you don't have a green thumb. They are all pretty and will make your place more homey. Wind chimes are fun to use as home accessories. They make a lovely sound when the wind blows through them. There are also a lot of different colors and styles of wind chimes. Finally, you could consider adding some outdoor party lights to add some ambiance to your outdoor entertaining area!
