Boudoir Photography

Boudoir photography involves taking intimate, glamorous, and flirty pictures of yourself, usually wearing lingerie or other alluring clothing. The first step in having boudoir images taken is to find the right photographer. In preparation for the boudoir photo shoot, you will need to pick 4-5 outfits to wear, as the photographer will not usually have clothing available to you. Often, subjects wear nightgowns, garters, fishnets, boy shorts, and babydolls. Wear what makes you feel most beautiful and alluring. You can also bring something of your significant other's, such as a dress shirt, hat, or tie to wear during the session. Some women pose with props that have special meaning to her boyfriend or spouse, such as a baseball bat or guitar. You can usually bring these items to the shoot as well.

At the shoot, some photographers have a make-up and hair stylist to get you ready to look your best. If not, make yourself up ahead of time and bring make-up and hair accessories for touch-ups. Most boudoir photographers allow you to bring someone with you to the photo shoot; however, this may distract you and prevent you from taking the most engaging pictures of yourself. Women often feel self conscious during these photo sessions; however, a good photographer will work to bring out your best assets. Professionals will be able to joke around with oyu during the shoot and put you at ease, so they can get the best photos possible.
